Who you are contracting with

These terms apply to every package bought through this site. The contract is between you and STATIC.

The contract is formed when your payment is confirmed and you receive an order confirmation by email, not when you click Buy.

What you get

Each package and everything in it is listed on the pricing section, and those listings form part of this contract. In summary, a package buys a designed and built website of the stated size, delivered within the stated number of working days, with the domain connected and hosting set up.

Page counts are pages, not sections: a single page with several scrolling sections is one page. If what you need turns out to be larger than the package you bought, you will be told before any extra work happens, along with what it would cost. Nothing is ever added to your bill without you agreeing to it first.

Price and payment

Prices run from £299 to £799 and are one-off. They are the total: there is no deposit, no staged billing, and no recurring fee for the site to keep working.

This business is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged and the price you see is the price you pay.

Payment is taken through Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach this site.

What is needed from you

The text and images for the site, your logo if you have one, and access to your domain if one is already registered. An email setting out exactly what is needed goes out within one business day of your order.

The delivery time for your package is counted in working days from when that material is received, not from when you paid. If some of it does not exist yet, say so early and it gets planned around.

If nothing is received for ninety days and messages go unanswered, the project may be treated as paused and the file closed. It can be reopened at any time within twelve months at no extra cost. Nothing is forfeited quietly.

Revisions

Two full rounds of feedback are included in every package, plus small tweaks along the way. Anything beyond that is discussed openly, with the cost agreed before it starts. A round of feedback means one consolidated set of changes, not one change.

Who owns the finished site

You do, outright, from the moment it is delivered. That includes the code, the design as built for you, and the content. Your domain stays registered to you throughout and is never held as leverage.

Two narrow exceptions, both normal: any third-party components (typefaces, stock photography, open-source libraries) stay under their own licences, and the underlying tools and techniques used to build it remain available for other projects. Your site is yours; the skill that made it is not transferred with it.

Unless you ask otherwise, the finished site may be shown as an example of work. Say the word and it will not be.

Hosting and domain

Hosting is set up for you as part of every package and handed over in your name, so the site is yours to run from the day it launches. Whatever the hosting or domain provider charges is between you and them, and is typically very small.

Managed hosting and ongoing upkeep may be offered separately as an optional paid service. It is never a condition of your site continuing to work, and nothing further is payable under this contract to keep it online. If you want it, it is a separate agreement with its own price; if you do not, nothing changes.

Cancelling and refunds

If you are buying as a consumer, meaning mainly for purposes outside any business of yours, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of the contract being made, without giving a reason.

Because every package is built and delivered inside that window, you will be asked at checkout to confirm that you want work to begin straight away. If you then cancel within the 14 days, you are still entitled to do so, and you pay a proportionate amount for the work already done up to that point. The rest is refunded. If no work has started, the refund is the full amount.

If you are buying for business purposes, that statutory right does not apply, but the same approach is offered anyway: a full refund before work starts, and a fair, proportionate refund once it is under way.

To cancel, email hello@staticwebdev.com and say so. No form, no retention call. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, normally within five working days and always within fourteen.

If the site is delivered late for reasons that are not down to you and not outside anyone’s control, you can cancel and get a full refund.

Responsibility if something goes wrong

If the work is defective, it gets fixed. If it cannot be put right, you get your money back.

Beyond that, liability under this contract is limited to the amount you paid for the package, and does not extend to indirect losses such as lost profits or lost business. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, none of this affects your statutory rights.

Content you supply has to be yours to use. If a claim arises because it was not, that one sits with you.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protection of your own local law and can bring proceedings there.
